Laura Zindel’s style is rooted in the simplicity of form advocated by the Arts and Crafts movement. She celebrates and preserves the movement’s imagery and pattern making by adorning her ceramics with subjects that span the natural world. Plates, bowls, and platters are home to a wide menagerie of nesting birds, swimming crabs and fish, bears, penguins, even sinuous snakes and fanciful spiders. Acorns, pine cones, daisies, mushrooms, and ferns, curl across coffee mugs, vases and milk jugs. "Crouching Hare": Fish Platter; glazes earthenware original enamel transfer; 22" x 10" x 2"d
