A fascination with formal beauty and scale inspires Donna Veverka’s interest in architecture and ornament. She studies the details of classical arches, battlements and elegant public spaces as examples of balancing weight and light with a restrained use of decoration. These are the qualities she brings down to the scale of a ring, necklace or bracelet. Sterling silver, leather cords and hand forged chains comprise much of her limited edition and one-of-a-kind pieces.
Veverka received a BFA from Philadelphia College of the Arts in Metalsmithing and an MFA in sculpture from Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. She lives in Boston, and teaches at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
