New Jersey jeweler Sheila Fernekes
integrates bead, polymer and metals using
ancient Native American and African bead
weaving techniques. The interplay of color,
pattern and texture is achieved by weaving
and layering each bead one at a time. The
name of this necklace is Colores del Sol,
which means colors of the sun. This is her
first Paradise City show. Booth 109
Sandra Sedmak Engel celebrates
curves in her encaustic paintings -
the twist of a hip, the lovely line of
a neck. Her figures are textured and
truthful. Encaustic involves carving,
scraping and burning into layer
upon pigmented layer of translucent
beeswax. This Baltimore artist exhibits
at Paradise City Marlborough for the
first time. Booth 352
