Ning Lee was born in Chongqing, a beautiful mountain city in Southwest China, where he received his MFA. He uses a contemporary realist approach to painting objects of everyday life. What distinguishes his paintings, apart from their evident skill, is a vision of serenity, order and harmony. His body of work, inspired by Renaissance painters and 17th century Dutch masters, has a slightly surreal edge to it. Lee was awarded “Best of Still Life” at the 3rd Annual International Guild of Realism Juried Exhibition. Some of his extraordinary paintings reside in the permanent collections of museums, corporations and universities in the United States and abroad.
