Bonnie Bishoff and J.M. Syron combine their skills and collective imaginations in the design and making of highly distinctive furniture, home furnishings and jewelry. They are founding members and serve on the Board of Trustees of the Furniture Society, but it is their work in the medium of polymer clay that is so noteworthy. Appropriating techniques like mokume gane from metal working or millefiore-like canes from glass, they create surface designs with the pattern and intricacy of highly figured wood in luscious colors. The polymer patterns are combined with wooden elements embellished with hand carving, shaping and veneering.
