Patricia Daunis-Dunning holds degrees from the Rhode Island School of Design where her late husband, William, studied sculpture and Patricia designed hollow-ware such as metal bowls, teapots and chalices.
Why did they turn to jewelry? They view jewelry as “site specific sculpture – a sculptural form that suits the place on the body where it is worn.” For this reason, their designs come in many different widths and sizes so as to best work on the person who will wear the specific piece of jewelry. This award-winning couple has won the Grand Prize and the Men’s Jewelry Award from the Intergold/World Gold Council, a First Prize from Accent Magazine and two Niche Awards.
Published in Ornament Magazine and the books Contemporary American Jewelry Design, 500 Gemstone Jewels, and Metalworking for Jewelry, their work has been exhibited at the Fuller Museum of Art and the American Craft Museum, and is shown in other fine jewelry stores and fine galleries nationally.
Pecha Kucha Presentations of their work can be seen on Youtube & Vimeo
