Northampton’s Academy of Music was built in the 19th century and retains its period charm. Today, the Academy of Music has been reclaimed as a venue for live theater, as well as for dance, film, music, and arts education. It is home to regional performing arts organizations, and funds raised by the Academy are funneled back into the community. It serves as an architectural and cultural heart of the city.
