Ann Brauer’s numerous achievements are inspired by a childhood on a farm and the landscapes of Western Massachusetts. Her work is in the permanent collection of the American Craft Museum. She received a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Massachusetts Foundation for the Arts. Her studio was selected as an Editor’s Pick by Yankee Magazine’s Travel Guide to New England. Brauer’s quilts feature small blocks of different colors that are combined to form colors and images on a larger scale. She says, “The intensity of the labor required to make these quilts, the repetition of the blocks and the wide variety of fabrics required to achieve these colors incorporate the memories of process and the importance of the human effort.”
