Gloria McRoberts hails from Tennessee, where she weaves soft, richly layered landscapes of natural, undyed wool. By utilizing natural fibers as a sculpting medium, she emphasizes the seasonal transformation of trees as living sculptures. Delicate rhythms and patterns form powerful sculptural scenes. Each piece is one-of-a-kind.
The Smithsonian Institution purchased four of her pieces, and her work resides in many other public collections. These include Simon & Schuster Publishing, NY Champion Energy Corporation, Ethan Allen, Inc., Firestone Plywood Company, Kentucky Department of the Arts and Midlantic Bank.
