I began my career in ceramics as an apprentice studying functional pottery. The many years of repetitive work were important because they helped me to understand the nature of clay, the chemistry of glazes, and the techniques of firing. After opening my own studio, I worked for several years perfecting my skills and learning more about the world around me.

Now I am moving into the next stage of my career and exploring sculpture. Using the skills that I have developed, I hope to create pieces that express and idea or tell a message. I am curious about so many things – natural and manmade. I am always questioning ” Why ” and want to study more to find the answer.

As I grow older I have different perspective on life. I hope that my new work will convey that sense of mystery and wonder.
