Artist Statement / Technique
My designs reflect the organic beauty of nature and the dynamic energy of movement. Inspired by my outdoor adventures and athletic pursuits as a professional triathlete and cyclist, I translate the visual and emotional essence of these experiences into my jewelry. Each piece combines natural shapes, textures, and colors with rhythmic flowing patterns.
Using materials such as titanium, niobium, and silver, I texture metals with hammers, embossing, and a rolling mill, then form shapes with a hydraulic press and stakes. I incorporate pops of color by anodizing with electricity adjusting the voltage to get different colors and hues. Intricate silver cutouts are hand-sawed and attached to titanium or niobium with screws or welded with a pulse arc welder. This process results in vibrant, wearable art that captures the spirit of adventure and motion.
