Steve McKenna works out of a tiny, one person shop. He is a master woodworker of the “old school”. The natural beauty of the wood never plays second fiddle to overall design, and impeccable craftsmanship seems almost a graceful afterthought. If a chair is the consummate test of a furniture maker’s skill, a rocking chair, with its delicate balance and cradling spindles, is a true art form. Form and function are inseparable.
“Three Rocking Chairs and One Coffee Table”: maple, cherry, black walnut and oak, constructed with wedged-through tenons; coffee table is made of maple, cherry, walnut and plate glass.
