Peter Handler has been a Paradise City exhibitor since 1997, and has been making his signature upholstered seating for 25 years. Handler sees his furniture designs as sculptural forms. “I try to achieve a quality of whimsicality and formality at the same time. I believe that it is possible to express humor and elegance, seemingly contradictory attitudes, and resolve the contradiction visually.” A background in jewelry, an MFA from the School for American Craftsmen at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), and the discovery of aluminum as a material for jewelry making led Handler to first create an aluminum table, then expand to many types of furniture.
