David Talley has always been engaged in what he calls functional artistry. Beginning as a dentist with a side interest in sculpture, fascinated by the shape and curve of teeth, he moved on to creative boat-building. It was while living on a boat in 1998 that he began making furniture. Talley’s furniture evokes a classic minimalism that marries well with both contemporary and traditional decor with his discovery of the truth in the words ‘form follows function’. “These sculptural chairs have a clean simplicity, without extraneous parts. The low back design adds to it’s exotic appeal while offering surprising comfort,” writes Talley.
