The undulating curves of Terry Evans’ extraordinary wooden boxes bring a fresh meaning to the words “functional art”. Evans is motivated by two obsessions – the desire to create objects of distinction, and the ongoing search for wood species that are visually engaging, whether they are incredibly rare varieties, or common local hardwoods that have somehow been overlooked. A native of Kansas, Evans has work in the permanent collections of museums across the country.
