Gift of Nature

Look around you. We are surrounded by nature on every side. When you find yourself mesmerized by a magnificent sunset, a mountain vista, koi gliding through water lilies, or the first golden daffodil of spring, you are in thrall to Mother Nature. But sometimes we can’t – literally – see the forest for the trees. It’s easy to take nature’s gifts for granted.

The Earth has music for those who listen.

William Shakespeare

Aristotle wrote, “In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.” Gift of Nature, the special exhibit in the Sculpture Café, is an invitation to open your eyes to the marvels of nature’s gifts. Whether depicting land or sea, animal, vegetable or mineral, the work of our artists is a reminder of how awesome nature can be.

The ground we walk on, the plants and creatures, the clouds above constantly dissolving into new formations – each gift of nature possessing its own radiant energy, bound together by cosmic harmony.

Ruth Bernhard

The artists and makers of Paradise City show us the bounty of their inspiration, bringing a cornucopia of imagination and, often, humor. By channeling the birds and the bees, a canopy of trees, curious critters, distant vistas, and blooming close-ups – they have given us the gift of a garden of artful delights!

The creation of beauty is part of the nature of being an artist. As Vincent Van Gogh said, “If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere.”
