Spring Northampton Benefit Partner • International Language Institute

Paradise City’s Silent Art Auctions have raised over $400,000 over the years to benefit community causes and non-profits, including Hospice, Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, the Kestrel Land Trust, the Breast Form Fund, WGBY Public Television and the Northampton Survival Center. The beneficiary organization receives 100% of the donated funds. This spring, the International Language Institute of Massachusetts (ILI) is the beneficiary of Paradise City’s popular Silent Art Auction. 100% of the Auction proceeds will be donated to ILI.

Join the throngs of eager bidders, take home a one-of-a-kind find and support ILI at the same time!

Free English classes at the International Language Institute of Massachusetts (ILI) help immigrants and refugees learn the language skills they need to realize their dreams. Quite simply, the classes help change lives. “We learn and practice our English skills with people from all over the world, which makes our experience richer and amazing, feeling the world growing smaller and creating friends for life,” writes Claudia Aguilera (El Salvador).

The program offers four levels of evening and Saturday instruction—beginner, intermediate, upper intermediate, and the advanced “Bridge to Careers and Education” course. Student-centered, highly innovative classroom teaching is supplemented with ILI-trained volunteer tutors and digital learning in the school’s computer lab.

ILI is rightly proud that the immigrant and refugee students regularly exceed state targets for attendance, assessment, learner gains, and completions! And many give back to their local communities as volunteers while working to attain their employment and education goals.

The Massachusetts Department of Education covers about two thirds of the program’s cost. Much of ILI’s share comes from generous local businesses and foundations and hundreds of individual donors.

ILI encourages Arts Fair visitors to bid high and bid often at the Silent Art Auction tables in Exhibition Building 3!

Here’s what awaits you all weekend: Beautiful, valuable pieces donated by Paradise City’s outstanding exhibiting artists—from jewelry, furniture, paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and glassworks to wearable art, metal, wood, prints, and more.

Check out the auction tables, where volunteers are on hand to help you place your bids; bidding ends exactly at 4:00pm on Saturday and Sunday, and 3:00 pm on Monday. And be sure to visit the booths of the artist donors.

ILI thanks all artist donors and all of you for your generous support!
