Susan Garry’s work is a synthesis of design, color, pattern and texture using the technique of wet and nuno felting. She also uses shibori, the ancient Japanese art of shaped-resist dyeing, to create textured and patterned surfaces and geometric shapes, especially circles. Her wearable art includes dresses, jackets, scarves and shawls, while larger pieces function as wall panels, room dividers, curtains and throws. Garry lives and works in a loft in Lowell, MA – a city founded in the 1820s as a planned center for the production of textiles. Visit her at Paradise City Marlborough this spring.
